5th International Alanya Tropical Fruit Festival Begins
Alanya will host the 5th International Alanya Tropical Fruit Festival from October 9th to 11th. Organized under the theme "From the Caribbean to Alanya: A Tropical Story," this year’s festival stands out due to its international participation.
The festival will welcome the ambassadors of Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Panama. Additionally, communities from the Philippines and Kazakhstan will showcase their culinary traditions, incorporating tropical fruits into their dishes.
Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik noted that over 40 types of tropical fruits are grown in the city, emphasizing that the festival will contribute to promoting Alanya both nationally and internationally.
The three-day event will feature competitions—such as the "avocado *çomaç*" (a traditional local dish) contest and a competition to find the heaviest avocado—alongside workshops, jazz performances, DJ sets, and a concert by Ayhan Sicimoğlu & Harikalar Bandosu. Renowned chefs and television personalities will also take part in the festivities.
The festival program includes workshops tailored for children, women entrepreneurs, and individuals with special needs, as well as initiatives focused on the environment and sustainability.
Highlighting Alanya’s tropical agriculture, local producers, and cultural richness, the festival awaits visitors from October 9th to 11th.
